Final Report - Calotte Academy 2024

The Calotte Academy, an international travelling symposium and school of Arctic dialogue, took place in the European Arctic and Sápmi from the 11th to the 17th of November 2024. The Academy brought together 17 early-career researchers and 7 professors from 13 countries, attending sessions and excursions in Rovaniemi, Luleå, Hetta, Kautokeino, Inari, and Sodankylä.

 

Calotte Academy 2024 to take place in November 11-17

The Calotte Academy 2024 which was originally scheduled for June had to be postponed. It will take place 11-17 November 2024 under the overarching theme "Environmental Security vs Military Security."

 

Call for Papers for Calotte Academy 2022

The Calotte Academy 2022, with the title The global Arctic today: cooperation & power politics, fossil economy & climate catastrophe, science & Indigenous knowledge will take place 10 – 18 June 2022 in Sapmi, the European Arctic. Its sessions & excursions will be organized in Kiruna & Abisko, Tromsø & Alta, and Hetta, Inari & Rovaniemi.
